Mariah Carey will replace Janet Jackson as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend. Mariah has not performed on SNL for more that 10 years. Janet had to cancel the performance due to illness.

Erykah Badu graces the cover of Essence and her album “New Amerykah,” debuts at No. 2 this week. Janet’s new album “Discipline” will be No. 1 this week. I glad Janet is on top, because she has been working so hard promoting this album. She has been on every talk show and magazine imaginable. Congratulations to both ladies!

Janet on Marriage and Children

On marriage, Janet told the Insider “If it’s [meant] to happen, it’ll happen,” she says. “I like where we are, and I’m happy where I am. I’ve done it twice before. I’m afraid I might be a jinx. I might be allergic to marriage.”
Janet is not worried about her biological clock. “I get so much pressure .. even my mother mentioned something to me the other day. But now you can have your eggs frozen and there are all sorts of things you can do. I’ve still got time so I think I’m okay. I’ve got to get a little more kid out of me first before I move on and be childish with my child.”
Janet can keep a secret, so she could be already be married and have a child. She always looks happy with Jermaine, so good for her. Not everyone wants to have kids, so I think they should geet off her back.
